Himalayan Christmas

Our Christmas present from Megan's parents was quite unusual this year. The entire family (except Ty, Amy, and the babe - whom we all missed very much) spent the better part of December in Nepal. While in Nepal we enjoyed the majestic Himalayas, worked and played with the Nepali villagers, traveled and explored Kathmandu, and trekked in the Annapurna Range. The main purpose of our Nepal trip was to help improve access to water for a village near Damauli (google it). The Nepalese people are incredibly welcoming and made us feel very much at home. We were priveleged to stay in one of the villager's homes while we worked on the water project. During our stay, we lived (more or less) as they lived: ate traditional meals cooked by the villagers each day and walked the paths they walked. We danced to the rhythmic drumming and folk songs each night by the fire and worked on the project during the day. We made many friendships and expanded our perspectives about the real meaning of Christmas, family, and life by watching the Nepali's ways of life, working with them, and learning from their unselfish, hardworking and kind examples.
This was definately a Christmas to remember! Thanks Mom and Dad. We love you!
