A Snowy Birthday Weekend

I was one lucky girl and got to have a Birthday Weekend all planned by Ben!

We had a big snow storm on C-town on Wednesday which continued thru Thursday, my day of birth. For this reason, we were not able to make it up the mountain to our house and instead stayed here:
(Doesn't their house look beautiful in the snow? )

One thing about snow in Oregon that I love is the contrasting colors...greens of the moss with the brilliant whites of the snow.

As mentioned in previous post, I made the drive to our house Thursday morn to find this: my house covered in snow. You would have never known that the driveway had been cleared 3x on Wednesday. I did not attempt to drive down the driveway because I knew I would not make it back up. Sooo... I walked up and down the driveway with our ski stuff and vacation stuff and Maria's stuff...yep, a lot of stuff.

Don't the trees look handsome in their new white coats? Lots of snow!!!

After all this fun, we had lunch (compliments of the Ramptons again), then delivered our precious package (Maria) to Cherie (who then handed her off to Katie) and were on our way to the airport to fly to Whistler, British Columbia for a birthday ski weekend. Yahoooo, a snow-filled weekend for us!

I know this is a crummy picture, but I took it at night and I think it is actually pretty cool because you see the Olympic sign, the Olympic rings and the ski runs (a few of the hundreds) in the background.
We had a great time! Thanks to ALL who helped to make it a great birthday weekend!

(The way home was just as adventurous with snow storms, 15K/hr driving in BC, missed and delayed flights...oh my.)
