Birthdays and Visitors

Benny Boy had a birthday!
He turned 34!
(He will be thrilled that I am posting this...he does NOT like bday attention!!).
His birthday was a pretty good one for two reasons:
1) He moved up in the world as a man and recieved a grill, so we can have official Wallace BBQ's and
2) Family came into town just in time to celebrate his special day with home-made pizzas and cake and ice cream.

While Jeremy (Ben's older brother) and Chris and their kids (Savannah, Alex, Micah, Gray and Baby Charlie) were in town we went swimming at Otter Beach, went to the Farmer's Market and roamed around downtown, picked lots of blueberries and raspberries, went to Portland (the 'girls'), went crabbing in Newport (Deadliest Catch Part III - the 'boys'), went on some hikes, and Chris and I even got in three trail runs (Ben and Jer did a couple too). Oh, and let's not forget that Chris and I stayed up til about 1 am making freezer and shelf raspberry jam. We thought our husband might kill us...but it had to be done...oh the life of a domestic woman (HAHAHAHA!!!)!

As always, it is so great to have visitors...not just to fill the silence with cheers and sounds that can only come from a bunch of "coonies" (Maria's versions of cousins) having fun together, but for the late night talks, the things learned (by me and Ben, a few lessons in good parenting, that is) and new memories made. I loved having someone to run with and show a bit of my everyday life to, and Chris loved running in the forest too.
Thanks for coming to visit. We loved having you all here!

***After Jer and Chris were here for about 5 days we all headed out to Seaside, Oregon for the official 1st Annual Wallace/Unrein Family Reunion.***
(More on that to come!)
