Christmas 2011

The Wallaces and Swensens made it year #2 spending Christmas Eve together. We love hanging out with L and M and Maria can't get more fun and toys and dolls and attention than from the Swensens. This year we made sugar cookies for Santa, and Santa was even heard ringing his bells and calling out Merry Christmas (no lie...their friend had it all planned - and the kids could not believe their ears - it was priceless!!!). We had lots of good food, and luckily my turkey rocked the house...and as always, Lindsey cooks up some yummy dishes.

Maria with her cookies and Egg Nog for Santa.
(Ben told her that Santa likes Egg Nog. Maria's reply to this was, "My Daddy really like Egg Nog too!")

Christmas in our home was very mellow this year (so mellow that prego Mego took almost a 3 hr nap). It was nice to be together with our little family on Christmas, and, as strange as it sounds, it was nice to have family to miss.
Christmas Day was filled with lots of "Oooohhhh Mmmyyyy Gosh[es]" and "Oh, thank you[s]!" from Maria. It was all quite sweet. Ben and I just laughed the first time she said "Oh My Gosh" because we have never heard her say that before (and have been taming that phrase and giving alternatives since). When Maria opened the ballet leotard and tutu and slippers from Grandma Lesli and Papa Art, and then again when she opened up the ballerina doll from Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Scott, she just didn't know how to deal with her overflow of emotions (apparently) and so, well, the OM Gosh business....and it was quite comical.

We took very few pictures of the blessed day's event, but Maria made the morning memorable and the Humphrey family made the evening memorable with the great dinner and good times.

So Cute! I loved the "Merry Christmas" & Jingle bells from Santa. Have to try that sometime. I think Maria's P.J.'s may have matched Evie & Jocie's. Jocie couldn't make it to Christmas eve because she was sick, and Liz forgot to bring Eve's pj's which was a bit of a mini-trauma in and of itself.....
Anywho- I never got to see either of them in theirs, so that would be my guess. She looks adorable, though! Hope you guys had a great Christmas- you were missed!
