There had been an inversion in Corvallis for what seemed like a long time (a week maybe, but a long week at that). Corvallis has been stuck under the clouds, in the dark, with some freezing rain and snow/ice-frosted trees all over...wild weather.
Monday (a holiday, come to find out) was a busy day and my sitters kept falling thru. I decided to just get over it and come to terms with NOT getting on a run. Cherie called to say that Eric could come and watch my girls (where were - or were supposed to be - asleep). So I jumped on that.
The run was, well, a lot like life. I did a lot of thinking and kind of forgot about running. I stayed on the smaller trails and worked my way to the light...
It was a dark, cold and strangely beautiful run.
The light peaked thru the trees and there was no mistaking it.
The butterflies in my stomach went nuts with the light slivers. (I was glad to know I still had those guys!)
When I got to Dimple Hill I was awe-struck.
I had entered another world - and it was there for me - and I was so very happy to welcome it - and be welcomed by it.
It was WARM AND SUNNY!!!
And it was always there, I just had to take myself there.
And my good buddy C was there to welcome me! XOXOXO
(thanks C and J for the pictures)

so amazing! Gorgeous photos
OH Meg these pics are so beautiful! And I have to admit, they stir something within my soul. I don't know if its the mountain, the sunshine, or the runnin sneaks..... maybe all three? I feel like im up there now. (Even though I'm in front of my computer in my sweats eating a massive piece of chocolate cake :)
