We Moved!! House Remodel...

July-August 2013
We MOVED!!
At our old house on the last day we were there.
While Ben's Mom was here in May, we went house hunting, AGAIN!  (This is nothing new for us. We have been looking for a house since we moved to Oregon.)  With the prices of homes here, and not being able to find a house that we like with a decent yard, and in an area that is nice, we had been unable to find a house and were not very optimistic.
We looked at this house - against my desires, because the pictures made it look terrible.  Lucky for us, the pictures didn't do the house justice!
Now this house is ours!
It has been a lot of work, but is coming together and we love being in a neighborhood where there is light and we are closer to town and the places we spend a lot of time.
So, here is a look at some house remodeling:
The family room off of the kitchen.
Painted over the green with light gray. New base boards and crown moulding. New carpet.
Kitchen
As much as we loved the floral pattern and pink-ish walls, it all had to go.
New paint and crown moulding and base boards.
Kitchen wall
Other wall was greenish.
Painted it a light white. More trim.
You can see the dining room...love that room now.

-Upstairs Master Bath and Bedroom-
New Carpet where all old carpet was. Yep, there was carpet here - nast!
Ben and his tiling crew (friends) put in new tile here, and then new trim.
Almost finished master bath. Just needs grout and base boards.
-Laundry Room-
New helper John!
Ben hadn't even met him before this day. I was friend's with his wife
and just happened to mention that Ben was going to start tiling and
was a beginner tiler and she sent her hubby up.
J and B tiled til past 2am 2 nights in a row. True!
-Laundry Room-
New tile and paint.
Oh, this room is so fabulous.
My Spanish laundry room.
(Finish work not done in pic.)
-Laundry Room-
Shelf/locker building in the works here.
-Dining Room-
Painted red walls this creamy gray. Put up wainscoting and base and crown.
This rooms looks so good.
(Still needs wood floor put in over old carpet and a new light...add it to the list!)
-Family Room-
New paint, crown, base and carpet.
So pretty much the house is mostly finished, but we have a LOT of little projects in the works and/or planned for the future.  We had the whole house painted.  The old colors (rusty red, dark sage green, dark brown, and malted strawberry milk) were NOT doing it for us!  Old carpet removed and replaced with new carpet put in everywhere but the dining room (future project). New tile in laundry room and upstairs bathrooms.  Built lockers and shelves in laundry room. Ben ripped out the old base and crown moulding, which was not the real deal and not exactly attached to the walls correctly.  We took down  a couple layers of good 'ol Winnie the Pooh, fishy, floral, and animal wallpaper...that is always (not) fun.
Good to be here and be making this house our own.
