Sea World
Orland, Florida
August 2013
To remember: Sea World was our last stop before heading back home to Oregon. We had a FULL day at Disney World, the day before, and Sea World wasn't exactly Disney - not even close.
I really wanted to visit Sea World, but it wasn't all I remembered it to be, and the staff was not DW staff, and it just didn't compare to DW.
We did try some new things tho, like feeding the dolphins (Maria was very anxious at first) and the rays (again Maria was timid and Malan wanted to get in the water and it was a battle keeping her from trying to stick her face in the water to blow bubbles). Ben and I traded off with the kids and the huge HUGE roller coaster and the huge line. I paid the price of my thrill-seeking desires with some extreme nausea/motion sickness for the rest of the day too.
It was so hot that we even allowed our girls to strip down to their undies and diaper and play in the fountains...we were tempted to do the same.
Ben made the girls believers by winning them each a little stuffed turtle and some carni-type game. Ha!
All Maria wanted was to see the sea horses and to get a souvenir. She found some 'really special to take home,' a turquoise seahorse necklace.
We caught a late night flight after a full day in the heat at Sea World. These girls kept going until our layover in SLC.
Long days with lots of good memories for all of us.
