Utah of Bust
| Add caption |

Trip to Utah during the winter always means we will celebrate some birthdays and do some skiing. This trip kept the rules.
We went to Utah right after Christmas and were able to see all of the Wallace/Unrein side of the family and all of the local Waterfall and Rees (STL) family.
We had a lot of fun in the snow. Maria and Malan spent some time at Snowbasin and sledding in backyard and on the car hood as Poppy Scott pulled them behind the trailer. (Talk about blast from the past!!!)
Malan found, and covered her head with Vaseline. That was NOT easy to get out. Even with multiple washings with everything from dish soap to cleaner to shampoo, that hair was slicked. The tub was a difficult one to clean after each Vaseline head washing too.
We celebrated a late Christmas with both sides of the family too, even having the extended Waterfall over for the annual White Elephant Christmas party. Cheesy and inappropriate and a good time, complete with the model bust (again), fake sleeves (tatoos), and the Money Ball Game.
Papa Art gave all of the grandkids 'ninja masks' for Christmas. They were a hit!
The Wallaces know how to have babies in January! We celebrated Bella, Liz, Charley, Malan, Maria and Lesli's birthdays while in town. Yes, ALL January babies.
I am quite nostalgic when it comes to holidays and Utah, so I was pleased that Maria wanted to go and see the SLC Temple and the 'ativities' (aka nativities) on the temple grounds. Maria and I had a condensed tour of the Temple Square while Ben drove around the block with Malan in the car.
I think Maria shares my same awe and sense of peace when I see any Christmas lights, nativities, the Temple grounds covered in lights and the floating candles on the reflecting pool. We walked, hand in hand, and oohhhhed and awed at it all (and got to the little hot cocoa stand just as it closed.)
Such a fun trip.
Girls were trashed on the return flight!
