24 Hours of Crescent City

Trees of Mystery with the talking Paul Bunyon

Maria crying and fighting to get away from Paul. He said something like, "Oh well, I traumatized another one.  C'mon Maria, smile for the picture"  We, as her parents got a kick out of it.

Some cousin time checking out the huge trees.

All of us (minus Meg and Malan)
Such beauty!  The trees look heavenly.

The "boys" gondola

Savannah is growing up! Chris is stunning as always.

Hiking up Fern Canyon

Ben's brother Jeremy and his family planned a summer vacation to Crescent City and invited us to come visit them.  We decided last minute that 'you only live once,' and that we need to make every effort to see our family (that we miss so much) any chance we get.
So...we loaded up the car and made the 4.5 hour drive to Crescent City Wednesday late afternoon and came back after dinner Thursday.
We had fun from the moment we pulled up to their vacation house.  Maria was thrilled to see her cousins there all went nuts, running around like wild animals - happy, wild animals.
On Thursday we visited Trees of Mystery, went to a couple beaches, saw 5 whales (definite highlight!), picnicked and played on the beach and then hiked up Fern Canyon.
It was worth the drive.
Thanks Jer and Chris for having us.
