My favorite part of the Da Vinci Days was this!!!
There is a film fest in conjuction with the DV Days that showed a film about Flamenco dancing and music. The film, called Kumpania, documented a group of Flamenco dancers and musicians in California. After the film, there was a FLAMENCO SHOW!!!
I could hardly stay in my seat.
Oh man, it was a little bit of heave on earth for me.
I felt like my heart was going to beat out of my chest. I was so into it - all of it.
The first number was instrumental and both of the the bailaoras played their castinettes and then got up and danced.
One of the bailaoras also sang. Her deep raspy spanish voice brought back of flood of memories from Spain and made me want to go back.
The guitarist (Jose Tanaka) was so talented...oh, how I love the Spanish guitar.
Maria and I went with our friend Becky. Maria sat through it all and when the performance started, she couldn't help but to dance on the floor in front of her seat. That's my girl!
