Once upon a time there was a little family that lived in the woods.
They saw squirrels and birds and deer and mushrooms and moss and big BIG trees every day in their yard.
But one thing they didn't always see much of was the Sun. And they LOVED the sun, especially the Mom.
So...because they loved Mr. Sun so SOOOOOOOO much, they would go and search for him almost every day.
This day was no different.
The little mushrooms peaking out
Moss creeping up the roadside. No curbs or gutters in our neck of the woods. Just skinny and shoulder-less roads that get slick from the moss and other plant life mashed into it.
Yah, there it is. Our SUNday walk didn't disappoint.
This is the trunk of a tree covered in some fern ivy-ish plant.
We walk about 1/3 mile down/up the road to this lookout. It was pretty foggy down in the valley, which made a picture quite difficult - but hey, I will look at the picture in the future and it will be a familiar sight to me.
The ferns are really getting their growing on right now.
My fellow SUN searchers.
*I must admit, it did begin to rain on our way back up the road and I had to run us back home...but we did get some sunlight, if even for a short time. Worth it.
To remember: On our little walks, it is not uncommon for Maria to sing a couple tunes...and quite loudly! Today she sang Doe a Dear, Home is Whenever I'm With You, My Favorite Things, and one of her all time favs Happy Birthday, but instead of singing it to Garrett :) (haven't quite figured out why she always sings his name) she sang to Jesus, "because His birthday is on Christmas Mom!"
