Maria had a Christmas program at her school. It was so cute and she was SO excited to see us (her parents) when she walked into the room where the program was going to be.
She knew all of the little songs and the actions that accompanied them, and she was all smiles.
They sang: The Five Days of Christmas (a cute kid-friendly rendition of 12 Days of Christmas, but with a Penguin), Jingle Bells, The Little Drummer Boy and a few more.
To remember: The night before the program, Maria picked out all of her clothes down to the headband and red flower pin to go on her sweater. The next morning Maria had her usual tired and "I want to go back to bed" drama, but when I reminded her it was her Christmas program, her excitement returned. Maria was so fun to watch during the program, and of course I got all choked up and teary. I was a very proud Momma! At the end of the program she ran over to me and gave me the biggest hug and just couldn't stop smiling. She walked us to her room and just kept saying how happy she was to have "My Mommy and my Daddy at my school." All of the kids in her class had made an ornament for their parents and Maria was dying for us to open it up and see what she had made.
The school has really given a LOT of emphasis to Jesus' birth and the story of his birth and his life. I have been really happy to see and hear about it from Maria.
